Flowcrete Flooring Experts to Attend Exporail

Flowcrete Asia is joining world-leading suppliers at Exporail South East Asia to showcase the best flooring solutions available to the region’s rail industry.

Visitors to the Thailand exhibit will be able to talk to Flowcrete Asia at stand G28 about Flowfast Rapid Transit, the specialist resin flooring range designed to meet the complex requirements of railway platforms.

The exhibition is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia and will take place at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC). It recognises Thailand’s potential for growth and ambition for development, as Thailand’s government is itself looking for the best materials to deliver USD 68 billion of infrastructure plans.

Over the next 15 years hundreds of billions of dollars will be invested in rail transportation systems in Southeast Asia. Singapore, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok have all announced new rail plans as well as a high speed rail network that will link eight countries.

The Rapid Transit range created by Flowcrete Asia includes flooring solutions for multiple areas of a rail complex and has been chosen for train stations around the world, making it an ideal system to benefit Southeast Asia’s booming railway infrastructure.

The innovative Flowfast Rapid Transit provides a seamless resin finish that incorporates MMA technology to create a fully operational floor only two hours after installation. It has been rigorously tested to ensure it can withstand the railway environment and is fire-resistant to London Underground Limited’s Section 12 usage.

The Flowfast Rapid Transit range includes the quartz finish Flowfast Rapid Transit SR. Its robust nature is ideal for areas that are subject to heavy traffic and strict standards of hygiene and fire-safety such as underground rail networks, washrooms, warehousing and storage.

The Flowfast Rapid Transit SR option provides an anti-slip surface and UV light resistance which maintains colour stability.  

The range also includes the Blister and Corduroy tactile nosing systems to designate platform and stairwell edges. These can match any tactile design and offer flexibility, slip resistance and broad colour options to assist visually impaired travellers.

For internal areas that need an attractive floor, such as the station itself, Flowcrete’s Mondéco seamless epoxy terrazzo provides the client with a hard-wearing floor that can be decorated with whatever design they desire. And Rustik UV can enhance external walk ways with a natural, non-slip, stone finish.

Flowtex TQ creates a hard wearing, decorative epoxy resin topping which is ideal for station staircases. The floors of railway workshops can be protected using the high chemical resistance, self-smoothing epoxy resin system Flowshield CR and the floor sealer Flowseal EPW protects plant rooms with a hygienic, satin finish.

The multitude of new buildings required for the Southeast Asian rail infrastructure can take advantage of the benefits of K-Screed, a semi-dry cementitious product that produces a fast drying, high strength screed.
