BMW Brilliance Expands on Flowcrete Floors

Thanks to the success of BMW Brilliance’s first Zinoro showroom in Beijing in 2014 the high-profile luxury car brand has opened a second Flowcrete-floored site in Shanghai.

A new brand spawned from the premium joint BMW Brilliance venture, Zinoro has thrust itself to the frontier of China’s green transport revolution following the recent opening of its branch in Shanghai.

The pioneering electric car manufacturer was so impressed by the sparkling Mondéco Crystal surface in its first showroom that Flowcrete Asia was called in to supply the floor finish for its new facility located on West Nanjing Rd, in the heart of Shanghai’s busy commercial district.

300m2 of Mondéco Crystal was installed at the site in several complimentary colours to provide a decorative finish on which to showcase BMW Brilliance’s premium car brand Zinoro.

Smooth expanses of almond coloured floor meet light blue and dark grey sections across the showroom floor, separated by thin, curving strips of copper coloured banding. The clear crystal and glass aggregates incorporated into the Mondéco Crystal finish create a shimmering lustre that enhances the interior design scheme’s luxurious atmosphere.

The flooring project faced several challenges along the way, as before the floor finish could be applied Flowcrete Asia’s approved applicator had to repair the floor foundation to bring it up to a suitable standard, with only a limited window of time available to do so.

The application works also had to be completed at night due to city hall regulations and the cold winter weather made the project a physical challenge.

Thanks to the robust formulation of Flowcrete Asia’s seamless resin terrazzo system, it will be able to maintain its visual impact for an extended period of time. The seamless nature of Mondéco, combined with its abrasion, wear and chemical resistance means that it can maintain an unblemished, flawless finish within even the most intensive commercial facilities.

The durable, easy to clean nature of Mondéco was also a useful advantage for the new showroom, as it includes a play area to entertain customer’s children. Any dropped food or spilled drinks can be quickly washed away to maintain a clean, inviting environment.
