Flowcrete has been dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in flooring for 30 years, growing from two staff in the UK to over 200 staff in more than 30 offices around the world.

As one of the early overseas ventures by the Flowcrete Group back in the mid-1990's, Flowcrete blazed a trail into international markets, expanding year on year into new territories with the supply and installation of its specialist flooring systems.

Today, Flowcrete is the regional manufacturing hub for the Group's international business and supplies to the entire Asia Pacific region - from China to Indonesia and from the Middle East to Australasia.

The manufacturing facility in Malaysia is supported by a dedicated research & development team in Kuala Lumpur and a network of applicators, distributors and sales offices in more than 15 countries across the region.

The first manufacturing facility was established in Malaysia on the back of the largest screeding project ever awarded for the new Hong Kong International Airport and the opening up of new dynamic markets in the Asia Pacific region. This was followed by other major successes at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and the rapid growth of the car park decking market in Hong Kong.

Contracts that saw the installation of Flowcrete's hard-wearing industrial flooring systems for international majors such as GlaxoSmithKline and Roche Pharmaceuticals as well as leading local food and beverage processing companies helped cement the business further still.

As Asian markets began to expand, some at breath-taking speed, the requirement for innovative building finishes soared and Flowcrete was able to meet that demand with its range of commercial and industrial flooring systems.

This growth in demand became so great that additional manufacturing capacity was required and in 2005, Flowcrete moved to a dedicated 6,000 sqm facility on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. As such over 80 percent of sales from the regional headquarters are exported to over 15 countries around the region.

Innovation has always been at the heart of Flowcrete's product development philosophy.  Innovation began back in the 1980's when British inventor and Flowcrete's founder Peter Gibbins developed a special type of flooring that would stop sugar from eating into the production plant floors of a household name confectionery brand.  The company has since grown from a small local concern to the global organisation it is today.

In 2008, Flowcrete became part of Ohio-based RPM International Inc, a listed company with subsidiaries that manufacture and market high-performance coatings, sealants and specialty chemicals and the success story continues...
