Mezzo Residence Carpark

Mezzo Residence is the first residential component of The Light City, a 32.76-acre mixed-use waterfront development within the 152-acre Light Waterfront Penang masterplan. Envisioned as a smart city and premier seafront destination, The Light City integrates residential and commercial elements into a self-contained urban hub. To meet the project’s high standards, Flowcrete’s Deckshield system was selected to cover more than 40,000 m² of the development’s car park, reflecting the company’s proven expertise in high-performance specialist flooring solutions.

Installed across Levels 2 to 6, Deckshield ID a low-VOC, solvent-free, flexible polyurethane coating system was chosen for its sound-dampening and aesthetic qualities. It helped transform the multi-storey car park into a brighter, safer, and more welcoming environment. Its robust finish also ensures long-term durability, maintaining a seamless and vibrant surface even under continuous heavy traffic and exposure to fuel spillages, impacts, and abrasions. On Level 1, Deckshield LBD, a slip and chemical-resistant coating, was applied. Its ability to control moisture vapor dissipation was crucial in preventing rising damp and subsequent coating delamination.

The selection of the Deckshield system by both the architect and the owner highlights its proven performance, reliability, and suitability for demanding environments.
