Deckshield Controls Moisture in Low Level Car Park Deck

Flowcrete Hong Kong has supplied an innovative traffic deck coating system to be installed in the underground basement car park of a stylish new residential development in the heart of Ma On Shan. 

Jointly developed by Wang On Properties and Kam Wah Properties, The Met. Bliss is a trendy hotel-style residence, targeting young professionals pursuing a high quality, high convenience and healthy lifestyle. Every detail of the exterior and garden designs have been tailor-made to meet these modern requirements.  

As the result of the geographical aspect of the basement car park, the high levels of humidity and ground moisture levels were a significant concern for the project’s architects. 

To counteract these issues, Flowcrete Deckshield LBD (Lowest Basement Deck) system was used to coat the entire 1,500 square metres basement car park. 

Deckshield LBD is a flexible polyurethane car park deck coating system providing a colourful, hard wearing, finish, which is designed to ensure the controlled dissipation of rising moisture vapour in underground basement decks. 

Deckshield LBD is a low VOC, solvent free, flexible polyurethane car park deck coating system providing a watertight, hard wearing surface for use in low-level decks. 

The system tolerates up to 100% relative humidity in a concrete or screed substrate and is often used to brighten up dull, often dark and musty car park environments.
