HKIA Airport City Link

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) is transforming into a world-class Airport City that seamlessly integrates aviation, commercial, retail and logistics facilities. A key element of this landmark development is the Airport CityLink Bridge, an elevated pedestrian network connecting Hong Kong Port Island with the SKYCITY complex.

To meet the project’s demanding performance and aesthetic requirements, Flowcrete Rustik UV was selected for approximately 7,000 m² of walkways and staircases. Designed for external applications, the system offers exceptional UV resistance to prevent yellowing and colour degradation, ensuring a long-lasting finish despite constant exposure to sunlight. Its natural stone aggregate surface provides excellent slip resistance, enhancing pedestrian safety during Hong Kong’s frequent heavy rainfall, while delivering the premium appearance of a natural stone carpet with the seamless, low-maintenance benefits of resin technology. The flooring also offers outstanding weather and wear resistance, making it ideal for high-traffic public infrastructure.

To complement the Airport City’s contemporary architecture, four bespoke colour blends, White Sapphire, Smokey Quartz, Grey Moonstone and Burnt Amber were specified throughout the bridge network. Scheduled for completion in August 2026, the project demonstrates how Flowcrete Rustik UV combines durability, safety and architectural aesthetics to support one of Asia’s most significant infrastructure developments while enhancing the long-term performance and visual appeal of modern urban spaces.
