Lotus Rice, Vietnam

Lotus Group is a group of family-owned food companies headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The company makes a range of high-quality rice, beverages and confectionery. In the span of two decades, it has grown into an international company. The products are sold under the brand name of Lotus Rice which has grown into an internationally recognised premium food brand selling in over 20 countries. In August 2020, when the factory needed an upgrade, the company contacted Tremco CPG to supply Flowcrete’s floor coatings compatible with its clean and hygienic production environments.

Across the production area, over 1,200 m² of Flowfresh SL, a self-smoothing polyurethane resin floor finish was applied in a 2mm coating. Flowfresh delivers a matte coloured seamless, durable and easy to clean floor finish. As it contains Polygiene^®, an antimicrobial additive that robustly inhibits bacteria growth, Flowfresh is suitable for areas requiring a high level of hygiene. During the installation, while the factory was still in production, Tremco CPG’s applicator had to navigate the way through - including covering and isolating the installation areas to avoid dust contamination - to complete the job.

For the laboratory room and display area, over 200 m² of Flowshield SL, a high gloss, self-smoothing epoxy floor finish, was installed. The seamless finish provides a hygienic, hard wearing, chemical-resistant and easy to clean surface.

The flooring job was completed within 10 days and the client was happy with the results.
