Grade A Office Building Decked Out with Deckshield

LVGEM China is a well-known real estate developer and commercial property operator headquartered in Shenzhen. Established in 1995, the company has developed and managed a number of property projects in Shenzhen and other parts of Pearl River Delta region. In 2018, the company launched Neo Hong Kong, its first flagship project outside of Mainland China. The 25-storey Grade-A building is located in the heart of Kowloon East with a spectacular view of the Victoria Harbour.

Flowcrete Hong Kong secured the job to supply Deckshield for the five-storey, 382 bay car park. On level B1 to 1/F, 6,000m2 of Deckshield ID, a Green Label certified, low VOC, solvent-free, flexible polyurethane coating system, was installed on these intermediate decks to provide a colourful, watertight, hard-wearing surface. On level 2/F, 3,000m2 of Deckshield ID+EP+UV were used for this semi-exposed deck. This Deckshield formulation has been designed to withstand the challenging conditions within a car park with exposure to the weather and its associated rapid temperature changes. By being environmentally friendly, hard-wearing, slip-resistant, UV resistant and chemical resistant, it provides a reliable, lasting and attractive surface. On the lowest level basement level, 3,000m2 of the slip-resistant Deckshield LBD was used largely due to its capability to control the dissipation of moisture vapour to eliminate the problem of rising damp that causes the coating to peel.

On the external ramps, 1,400m2 of Deckshield IDSD High Grade was used as its highly textured finish provides excellent slip resistance. The loading area was coated with 1,300 m2 of Flowcoat SF41, a high performance, solvent-free, chemical resistant, high-build epoxy coating.

The entire flooring project was completed in under six months and was ready in June 2019 to welcome tenants and visitors.
