Automotive Service Excellence at BYD Service Center, Malaysia

BYD officially entered the Malaysian market in late 2022 through a partnership with a major national vehicle distributor. The brand quickly made an impact with its fully electric SUV, which became a best-seller and helped establish BYD as a leading EV brand in Malaysia. The BYD Vehicle Service Centre in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, serves as a key aftersales facility for customers in northern Malaysia. The centre required a flooring solution that was durable, chemical-resistant, low-maintenance, and visually clean to support its high-demand operations.

To meet these needs, Flowcrete installed Flowtex PT at 5mm thickness, a heavy-duty polyurethane floor screed designed to handle heavy vehicle traffic and resist abrasion without cracking. Its seamless finish minimizes dust buildup and protects against spills of fuels, oils, and hydraulic fluids, helping to maintain a clean, safe environment.

For the topcoat, Flowseal UV was applied in two coats. This finish provides excellent UV resistance to prevent discolouration from sunlight exposure through large bay doors. Its glossy, seamless surface is easy to clean, reducing maintenance time and downtime. High abrasion resistance ensures long-term durability under heavy foot and vehicle traffic.
