Chuan Ann Tyre and Battery workshop based in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur required a new flooring system to replace old and worn tiles that had become unsafe to work on.

The client needed a seamless and hardwearing floor that could withstand onsite challenges such as daily exposure to fuel, oil, grease and other chemicals that are inherent to the automotive industry.

Firstly, Flowcrete Asia’s anti-osmosis epoxy screed Flowtex AOS at 5mm was installed across the 361m² workshop area thanks to its excellent impact resistance and ability to minimise undulation. This underlayment is ideal for areas exposed to high moisture content and is also extremely resistant to dropped items and heavy loads.

Following this, 361 m² of the high performance PU coating system Flowcoat HTS in Steel Grey was used to provide high abrasion, chemical and slip resistance. The seamlessness of Flowcoat HTS eased the cleanability of the facility as dirt, oil and grease had no joints to hide in and could easily be wiped away.

Thanks to its UV light stability, the client could rest assured that the grey polyurethane coating would not turn yellow in the intense KL sunlight, and would therefore maintain its finish for the foreseeable future.

The installation was completed within ten days, and the workshop was fully trafficable for both staff and automobiles.
