To achieve the government’s plan of repairing the affected car parks, Flowcrete Hong Kong supplied over 17,200 m2 of its specialist deck coating solutions to refurbish the Pak Lok site.
This particular project was undertaken during the second part of the Macau government’s refurbishment plan. The project manager chose Flowcrete’s high performance floors as the decision makers trusted that these solutions would withstand the high levels of pedestrian foot traffic that the floor would be exposed to due to the large numbers of ferry passengers walking across the facility.
Flowcrete’s Deckshield range was applied across two levels of the multi-storey car park. For the basement level (B2), Deckshield ID and Deckshield EP were specified as this build-up would deliver a safe, colourful and reliable surface for the long term. The floor’s chemical resistance ensures that automotive chemicals such as fuel, engine oil, battery acid, hydraulic fluid or any similar substances won’t damage the coating.
On level B1/F, the Deckshield ID finish not only cosmetically enhanced the space but thanks to its seamless and impervious nature it helps to keep the site clean and hygienic. The positive texture of this system is ideal for car parks, as it provides an anti-slip surface that reduces unpleasant tyre squeals, making the car park a quieter and more pleasant environment.
The Deckshield range also allows for floor plans that incorporate navigational signage and useful demarcations to make it safer and easier for visitors to move around the site.
