MapleTree Bay Point, Hong Kong

Mapletree Bay Point, a subsidiary of Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd., consists of 19 levels of premium office space, restaurants and retail stores. The three-storey basement car park facilitating Mapletree Bay Point needed a fresh deck coating system that could comply with the building’s design to be a Low Carbon Green Building, incorporating environmentally sustainable features.

For the multi-storey car park, 11,000 m² of Deckshield EP primer and the low VOC, Green Label certified Deckshield ID from Flowcrete Asia were chosen thanks to the ability to install them onto substrates with high moisture levels and meet the building’s sustainable requirements.

In addition to its high durability, chemical resistance and fire resistance, Deckshield ID was also chosen for this car park thanks to its visual flexibility. The client required a clean, crisp aesthetic with very clear and immediately obvious signage. This was easily achieved with bright white demarcation against the black and grey deck coating.

Using alternate colours for the parking bays also added to the high-end, modern interior design scheme of Mapletree Bay Point. UV Topcoat was applied to this custom-made colour system in order to maintain a high quality surface that wouldn’t suffer with discoloration over time.

The installation was completed within three months and was ready to welcome visitors to the Grade A office building and retail facilities.
