Due to the development consisting of 2,000 parking bays, Perdana ParkCity specified 100,000 m2 of Flowcrete Asia’s specialist resin solutions to create a high-end floor area. 70,000 m2 of Deckshield ID was used for the project due to its robust finish that would ensure a seamless and colourful surface despite prolonged exposure to fuel spillages as well as impacts and abrasions from the continuous, heavy traffic flow. The impervious nature of Deckshield also protects the underlying concrete structure from damaging water ingress.
30,000 m2 of Flowcem was used as a temporary moisture barrier to protect the lowestbasement deck coating from expected high levels of residual moisture coming through the concrete slab. Flowcem works by dispersing rising water from the ground and easing any pressure before it reaches the coating above. This reduces the risk of blistering and allows for the installation of moisture sensitive floor finishes onto screeds with a moisture content up to 95% relative humidity.
A light grey colour was specified for the car park’s main roadways, with crisp yellow lines used to outline parking bays and pedestrian pathways. To distinguish between the differentlevels, bold greens, oranges and blues were used to add a splash of colour to the parking bays.
