Lucky Plaza Car Park, Hong Kong

Shatin was the first satellite city developed by the Hong Kong government in the 1970s. As the earliest private residential project, Lucky Plaza consisted of shops, public parking lots, and almost 2000 apartment units.

After more than forty years, Lucky Plaza is fully refurbished. In terms of the basement car park, the landlord chose to use Flowcrete’s Deckshield ID to protect, repair, and transform the mall’s car parking facilities.

Over 6,000m² of Deckshield ID, a Green Label certified, low VOC, solvent-free, flexible polyurethane coating system was installed throughout the car park and driveways.

Deckshield ID was mainly chosen for its outstanding chemical resistance that greatly reduces the likelihood of surface damage from engine oil, battery acid, hydraulic fluid, fuel, and similar substances inherent in car parking facilities.

Phase 1 (4,000m²) of the car park refurbishment is complete and opened to the public at the end of August 2022. Since Deckshield ID contains low VOC, it is safe for daily operations to resume while the remaining refurbishments are done by the end of the year.
