With a reliable track record, Wheelock called on Flowcrete Hong Kong once again to supply its solvent free, epoxy resin primer for damp cementitious substrates, Deckshield EP, which is ideal for the notoriously damp conditions of underground basement car parks.
Deckshield ID was then applied on top as a protective coating against vehicular traffic. This system provides a colourful crack bridging, waterproof and hard wearing surface for the intermediate decks of multi-storey car parks.
For this project, Deckshield IDSD was applied on the ramps thanks to its courser texture which would provide a more slip resistant profile and enhance its durability – preventing the ramps from becoming slippery, which often occurs due to Hong Kong’s heavy rainfall and humidity.
Furthermore, Flowcoat SF41 was installed to withstand the vehicular and trolley traffic in the loading bays. Flowcoat SF41 is a high performance, solvent free, chemical resistant epoxy coating that can deliver an anti-slip profile by including aggregates between coats.
Crisp white lines were used to outline parking bays with pale blue, grey and green colours to distinguish between the different levels.
