Galaxy Macau (Phase 3), Macau

Officially opened in 2011, Galaxy Macau is a world-class luxury integrated resort destination in Macau owned and managed by the Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG).

In phases 3 and 4 of the Galaxy Macau expansion, the GEG will be adding two more hotels boasting 5-star leisure, entertainment, and business hospitality facilities, including a new casino. Having completed the earlier flooring projects in phase 1 and 2, Galaxy Macau had once again chosen Tremco CPG to provide over 60,000 m2 of high-quality resin floor coating for the car park, loading and unloading areas, and back of house (BOH) facility spaces.

On level B1, 9,000m² of Deckshield ID, a Green Label certified, low VOC, solvent-free, flexible polyurethane coating system, was installed on these intermediate decks to provide a colourful, watertight, hard-wearing surface.

On level B2, 20,000m² of the slip and chemical-resistant Deckshield LBD was used due to its capability to control the dissipation of moisture vapor to eliminate the problem of rising damp that could cause the coating to peel. 3,000m² of Deckshield IDSD High Grade was applied on G/F to B2 ramp taking the advantage offered by its highly textured, anti-slip finish to enhance safety for all users.

The loading and BOH areas were coated with 16,000m² of the high-build epoxy coating, Flowcoat SF41 (3mm) and over 9,000m² of Isocrete K-Screed (50mm) with M-Bond. The screed system was chosen because of its quick-drying and fast-curing properties, as well as its high compressive strength and ability to create a level floor ideal for a resin finish.

The entire flooring project was completed within six months and the result is a fully functional car park that reflects a high-quality build befitting the hotel’s prestige.
